Wedding dresses: back to simplicity
There is a wedding dress for every style, there is no doubt about this. But the trends in bridal fashion noticed on the catwalks are mainly seven:
– White, sober and elegant: The dress returns to tradition with sober shapes, which favors elegance and white.
– Light and impalpable fabrics: Brides are looking for comfort and simplicity and for this they focus on light fabrics: chiffon, tulle … like on a cloud. Alongside fabrics, a big yes also for clean and minimal lines.
– Eco-friendly fabrics: Focus again on fabrics, this time on natural ones such as Jute, Hemp, Linen and Organic Cotton, which not only give life to incredible dresses, but also embellish bodices, embroidery, bustiers and weaves that evoke the Renaissance era. For a bridal fashion friend of Mother Nature.

– Off the shoulders: A touch of sensuality? By opting for a dress that highlights the shoulders, to give a sexy touch to the look, without sacrificing elegance.
– Trousers and jumpsuits: Trousers suits are popular in smartwear, normal to find this option also on the bridal catwalks. A trend that denotes personality and innovation and that the designers did not let it escape.
.
But a little curiosity: how much are Italian brides willing to spend on their wedding dress? According to the White Book of Marriage published by Matrimonio.com in collaboration with Google and ESADE Business School, the average cost of a wedding dress in Italy is 2,138 euros, excluding shoes and accessories.
Bridal hairstyle and accessories: semi-curls and flowers
The wedding hairstyle is that element that is least affected by trends, since brides choose the look mainly based on their personality and tastes. In any case, semi-gathered hair with braid continues to be the favorite look of current brides for their big day, as they are a very versatile and romantic hairstyle. Another very popular style is represented by loose hair with flowers, and finally the accessories with rhinestones, such as tiaras and barrettes.
Bridal make-up: the smokey nude triumphs
Brides want to enhance their natural beauty and for this reason effortless make-up is the favorite of Italian brides, with a particular preference for the smokey nude. The use of glitter details in the bride’s make-up is an emerging but growing trend, which gives a touch of fantasy to the look. There are still few brides who dare with this new trend, but it is only a matter of time and soon we will see more and more couples shine in the moment of their Yes!
Intense blue tuxedo for the groom
In recent years there has been a lot of talk about casual style spouses, however one of the favorite outfits of the newlyweds is the deep blue tuxedo. Another very popular option is the smart casual style, with split suits in which different colors and fabrics are combined to give a touch of freshness to the classic style.
Weddings in Italy Covid situation: 9 out of 10 couples will get married in 2021
But how is the situation in the wedding scene, now that the sector has reactivated? Furthermore, in the last month, 27.1% of couples spent 2-3 hours a week planning their wedding and only 9.4% spent less than an hour. This indicates how confident and optimistic the couples are, to the point of resuming the organization for the “Yes, I do”.
